Michele Marotta (Cava dei Tirreni 1919- Roma 2008) has been teaching Sociology at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” fremo 1976 until 1996, coordinator of the interdisciplinary group for social research (1983-1992),  honorary president of the National Association of Sociology, vice-president of the Italian Society for the development of sciences from 2000 and director of the review Sociologia from 1990.
Gemma Marotta, born in Cagliari in 1950, psychologist and psychotherapist; professor of Criminology and Sociology of deviance, and of Law, security and social change at “La Sapienza” University of Rome. Member of the Italian Association for Criminology from 1974 and honorary member of the National Association for Sociology.
